Pancake Land: $5

HeroIncredible is three young, spirited and distinct musicians together in a startlingly original indie rock project. Their driven, fiercely passionate rock sound is the result of Vanessa Cardui's mature songwriting and crystalline vocal quality combined with the solid rhythmic foundation and hot rock grooves of drummer Nick Stoll and bassist David Sharow.

After years of honing their craft on the Calgary scene, HeroIncredible's self-produced debut album, Indelible, was released in June 2010, followed by the four-song EP Pancake Land in October. Their music video for The Dragon-Slayer, a raucous fantasy drinking song, is presently going viral, and work on the second album is underway.

Vocals/Rhythm Guitar

Vanessa Cardui's parents decided very early on in her life that she would be a classical harpist. Their dream was squelched by financial constraints. Financial constraints did nothing to stop Vanessa from burying herself in two years' worth of debt sixteen years later when she bought her first electric guitar. She has been writing music seriously since the age of twelve, and her musical styles include classical guitar, coffeehouse folk and of course the crunchy alternative rock and tectonic power ballads of Heroincredible.

Drums/Percussion

Nick started drumming because there were no drummers in his circle of friends. He got his first drum kit from an uncle, relieving it of its 'heap' status. It was missing heads, all the stands were half broken, the snare would not go crack, and the throne would periodically break a rivet and throw him off. Thus he only seriously started playing when Vanessa asked him to be her drummer.
Nick's influences are as varied as any. They range from everything jazz, to Metallica and Live. His preference is for anything heavy with a good melody and fun rythms.

Bass

David began playing guitar at the age of wee in a foreign land, known as: Foreign Land. He didn't suck, so he resumed playing guitar back in Calgary. When trying to pick courses for grade 10, he was one short...so off he went to his school's guidance counselor for advice. The suggestion was band(due to guitarishing). Unsure of whether to take it...he did it anyways because it seemed damn easy and music is always fun. But alas, guitar playing was not to be had. He was told to pick a different instrument, and decided to play bass, which has been sloppily yet lovingly played ever since (almost 5 years). Some influences: Incubus, RATM, Finger Eleven.
